Sideways and peripheral
vision is very helpful to inform a person of nearby blessings or warn of
nearby danger. When you're traveling down the road and you're hungry, good
peripheral vision can help locate a restaurant sign without taking your eyes
off the goal, the road ahead, until you can safely turn aside. Good
peripheral, sideways vision can spot many objects of beauty along the
journey and can also warn of impending dangers close by or distant.
We also need good Spiritual peripheral and sideways vision. Good Spiritual
peripheral vision can inform us of a need or opportunity for ministry or
blessing that might be nearby or our vision might serve to warn us of
dangers lurking behind the attractive signs along our way. I have found that
my own Spiritual eyesight is related to my relationship with the Lord. If I
drift away, I don't see very well.
